Why mary Duncan?
Mary Duncan School offers alternative educational programming for students in grades 7 through 12. In a flexible format and relaxed atmosphere, students are able to complete the required Manitoba Educational Curriculum at a pace that works for them. Mary Duncan can fill the gap for chronic and poor attenders, giving them a place where they can make continual progress. Class size is limited in order to be able to provide the students with the small group support they require. Our focus is on building student success by providing personal, social and emotional support as well as remediation and academic upgrading.
Mary Duncan Senior Years classes are scheduled as continuous entry classes. Students are able to enter the classes at any point and continue in the course until they have met the curriculum requirements for the course. Innovative scheduling and programming are provided to meet the needs of individual students who require a more personalized educational program. If at any time the plan we have worked out is not working for you please do not hesitate to request changes or to meet with the Principal or Guidance Counsellor.
Respect of self, others and property is the main ‘rule’ by which we operate. Please be mindful of others in the building as we share our spaces with a variety of community and KSD groups.
